Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin, Jr. led the inauguration of the Angeles City Public Memorial Park and Crematorium expansion on September 5, 2024.

Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, members of the Angeles City Council, Barangay Sapalibutad Captain Cristina Pineda, and some department and office heads.

The city’s public memorial park, which is located in Barangay Sapalibutad, now has an additional 2,748 niches.

According to Mayor Lazatin, “This expansion allows us to honor and respect the deceased by providing them with a dignified resting place for the deceased and ease the financial burden of indigent Angeleño families during times of grieving”.

The expansion includes a crematorium machine and two scissor lifts.

When Mayor Lazatin assumed office in 2019, the public memorial park had only 600 niches.

Philip Samson, Office Head of the Public Cemetery and Crematorium, said, “Mas marami pa pong kababayan natin ang matutulungan dahil sa expansion po ng public memorial park na pinagawa ni Mayor Lazatin”.

Samson added that the Angeles City Public Memorial Park and Crematorium is able to extend their services and other discounts to indigent families with applicable Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens.

As additional assistance, the Angeles City Government will also be providing free caskets and discounts in columbarium use for indigent Angeleños.
