Angeles City was named Top Overall Performer in the 2023 SubayBAYANI Awards. The Department of the Interior and Local Government — Angeles City, headed by Director Yvette Cosio, was also awarded as the Top Overall Performer for the local counterpart of DILG National.  The awards were conferred on November 16, 2023 at Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay, Parañaque City.

The SubayBAYANI Award is granted to recognize the excellent and consistent performance of a Local Government Unit and DILG Focal Persons for the enrolled locally-funded projects and infrastructe programs under the SubayBAYAN platform.

On behalf of Mayor Lazatin, City Planning and Development Officer (CPDO) Engr. Nilda Quito, DILG-AC Local Government Operations Officer V Vincent Catacutan, and Mignette Henson of CPDO received the plaques of recognition.

“I would like to applaud Engr. Quito and DILG-AC Director Yvette Cosio for their hard work and commitment in submitting the reports needed by the DILG,” Lazatin said.

According to Mayor Lazatin, this recognition is a testament to his administration’s transparency and accountability in the physical and financial status of the projects and other basic information related to the project implementation.

“Ang mga parangal na ito ay testamento lamang po na ang mga proyekto para sa ating mga kababayan ay napupunta po sa kanila at nararamdaman po ng bawat Angeleño ang serbisyong may puso na atin pong inilalaan para sa mga proyektong pangkaunlaran,” Mayor Lazatin added.

The SubayBAYANI Award is the barometer of the DILG in the advocacy of preserving transparency and accountability in the conduct of local project implementation and management.

The program focuses on the comprehensive, complete, and updated monitoring of project implementations of the LGUs which can be accessed through the SubayBAYAN system.

It also helps to ensure the effective service delivery in a certain locality.
