Angeles City will officially launch the ‘Angeleño Alerto!’ 24/7 Mobile App – Personal On-call Guard Interface (POGI) on January 28, marking a significant milestone as the first of its kind in Pampanga.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. stated that the app’s goal is to strengthen the city’s emergency response system, allowing residents to report incidents and share their precise location directly with emergency responders from the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO), led by Rodolfo Simeon.
The launch event will take place at the covered court of Barangay Pandan, where a simulation exercise will showcase how the app functions in real-life emergency scenarios.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized, “The safety of every Angeleño is our priority. This app will help us cut down response times, ensuring faster assistance during critical situations.”
Reducing emergency response time has been a key focus for Mayor Lazatin, as he recognizes that every second counts in saving lives.
IC Calaguas, the Mayor’s Chief Adviser and Tactician, who oversaw the app’s planning and development alongside Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and ICT Division Chief Mike Lising, explained that the app’s location-sharing feature allows responders to pinpoint incidents with greater accuracy, even when users cannot provide direct communication.
“This technology empowers Angeleños to take control of their own safety. No matter where you are, help is just a tap away,” Calaguas added.
Lising also mentioned that the app is free to download and simple to install. It includes user and responder registration, along with a system to dispatch responders from the ACDRRMO, Bureau of Fire Protection – Angeles City, and the Angeles City Traffic and Management Enforcement Unit.
A step-by-step guide for registering and using the app will be shared through the Angeles City Information Office’s official Facebook page.
The launch is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to improve disaster preparedness and emergency response, ensuring the safety and well-being of all its residents.
