A Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) Center will soon be constructed in Barangay San Bartolome, Sta. Ana, Pampanga, aimed at improving access to hospital-level healthcare services for residents of eastern Pampanga.
The facility is a joint project of the Department of Health (DOH), Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH), the Provincial Government of Pampanga, and the Municipal Government of Sta. Ana. It will serve as an extension of JBLMGH to help decongest the DOH-managed regional hospital while expanding healthcare coverage in nearby municipalities.
Office of the Vice Governor Chief of Staff Angelina Blanco expressed gratitude to national agencies and hospital partners for supporting the province’s health initiatives, emphasizing the shared goal of bringing quality healthcare closer to Kapampangan communities.
She also said the provincial government allocated ₱15 million for site development of the 1.2-hectare lot donated by the family of Sta. Ana Mayor Dinan Labung, where the BUCAS Center will be built.
Mayor Labung, meanwhile, said the project fulfills a long-standing aspiration of the municipality to make quality healthcare more accessible to its residents.
The DOH has allotted ₱34,999,998.71 for the construction of the facility, which will offer outpatient consultations, urgent and emergency care, laboratory services, and access to medical specialists.
DOH Central Luzon Center for Health Development Regional Director Corazon Flores said the BUCAS Center will significantly benefit residents of Sta. Ana and neighboring towns, noting that patients requiring higher-level care may be referred to JBLMGH.
Once completed, the Sta. Ana facility will be the second BUCAS Center in Pampanga and the sixth in Central Luzon, supporting the government’s thrust to strengthen accessible and responsive healthcare services in local communities.
