CLARK WELCOMES THE YEAR OF THE WOOD SNAKE

The University of the Philippines Confucius Institute partnered with Clark Development Corporation to welcome the Year of the Wood Snake with cultural activities, and booths aimed at giving the attendees an authentic Chinese New Year celebration experience.

UP Confucius Institute Director Dr. Lourdes T. Nepomuceno officially welcomed everyone to the special event. Meantime, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Chair Atty. Edgardo D. Pamintuan, UP Diliman Chancellor Atty. Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II, Chancellor, Chinese Embassy Cultural Counselor Huang YaPing, Angeles City Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, Angeles City Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Industry President Mariano Chua and Department of Tourism Region 3 Director Richard Daenos.

The event opened with the traditional lion dance dance performance and was made special by cultural activities such as Chinese Calligraphy Workshop, Chinese Mask Painting and Chinese Paper Cutting. Visitors were treated to authentic Chinese tea at the tea-tasting station, and were able to immortalize the experience at the Chinese attire photobooth.
