DOTr thanks Manila residents for cooperation in right-of-way clearing

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) expressed gratitude to residents of Barangay 218 in Manila for their cooperation in efforts related to right-of-way and site acquisition for an ongoing railway project.

In a Facebook post, Assistant Secretary for Right of Way and Site Acquisition IC IC Calaguas also thanked the Manila City Government, led by Isko Moreno Domagoso, for its support in facilitating dialogue with affected communities.

Calaguas emphasized that the situation demonstrates how concerns can be resolved through constructive discussions between the government and residents.

While acknowledging that the project will affect some families, the DOTr official assured that the government remains committed to providing proper compensation and relocation assistance, in line with the directive of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni ‘Banoy’ Lopez.

The agency reiterated its commitment to ensure that infrastructure development proceeds alongside the protection of the welfare of affected communities.
