Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon expressed strong disappointment after discovering “super substandard” materials used in a flood control project in Barangay Acao during an inspection Friday morning.

Dizon was joined by Baguio City Mayor and Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) Special Adviser Benjamin Magalong as part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to closely monitor DPWH projects meant to strengthen flood mitigation efforts in the area.

During the inspection, Secretary Dizon also noted that the project remained unfinished despite being reported as “completed” last March.
