Gov. Delta extends financial aid to displaced Fontana workers

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has provided financial aid to 185 workers displaced by the suspension of operations at Fontana Development Corp. (FDC) and Fontana Resort and Country Club, Inc. (FRCCI) following a cease-and-desist order (CDO) issued by the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) on January 6, 2025.

The CDO was issued due to Fontana’s failure to meet its financial and contractual obligations with the state-owned firm, leading to the loss of employment for over 500 workers, including those in the resort and casino operations.

As part of the immediate response, the Pampanga Provincial Government distributed ₱2,000 in cash assistance and food packs to each affected worker to help alleviate their financial challenges.

Board Member Cherry Manalo and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Fe Manarang, representing Governor Pineda, led the distribution of the aid to the displaced workers.

The Pampanga provincial government remains dedicated to assisting the affected employees and is working closely with relevant agencies to explore additional support programs moving forward.
