To secure Pampanga’s food supply and support local farmers, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has distributed ₱1.063 billion in agricultural aid and infrastructure from 2022 to 2024, based on data from the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office.
Key initiatives under the rice program include the distribution of 73,474 bags of organic fertilizer worth ₱25.7 million to 7,346 farmers. In 2024, an additional ₱1 million worth of soil conditioners was given to 1,000 farmers. Over two years, 9,125 farmers received ₱3.5 million in micronutrients.
The Department of Agriculture (DA) supported the province with ₱9.5 million worth of ammonium sulfate in 2023, aiding 3,646 farmers.
To boost long-term agricultural resilience, 1.3 million sampaguita seedlings were distributed across four towns from 2022 to 2024, alongside 7,000 fruit-bearing tree seedlings given to schools and walk-in clients.
Under the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) program, ₱19 million in aid was extended to 63 Farmers and Irrigators Associations to mitigate the effects of the El Niño dry spell.
Through the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA), ₱443 million was distributed to 88,595 rice farmers, while the province secured ₱110.9 million under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers, Fisherfolks, and their Families (PAFFF) for 11,090 beneficiaries.
The ₱360-million Pampanga Food Security Complex under construction in Lubao is a major infrastructure investment. The project is funded by the provincial government (₱238M), DA (₱50M), and PhilMech (₱72M).
“It is my priority to ensure that Pampanga residents have sufficient and affordable food,” said Gov. Pineda.
