Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, added another milestone to his storied career by surpassing Michael Jordan’s record for the most 30-point games in league history.
The 40-year-old forward recorded his 563rd 30-point performance during the Lakers’ commanding 119-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Jordan’s record had stood since 2003, a testament to his dominance during his era.
James, now in his 22nd NBA season, continues to rewrite the history books. With his latest achievement, he further cements his legacy as one of basketball’s greatest.
The game also marked another milestone for James: he surpassed Dirk Nowitzki on the NBA’s all-time games played list. Appearing in his 1,523rd game, James is now fourth in this category, trailing only Robert Parish, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Vince Carter.
Nowitzki, a 2011 NBA champion with the Dallas Mavericks and one of the game’s most celebrated international players, retired in 2019 after an illustrious career.
LeBron James’ impact on the sport is unparalleled. A four-time NBA champion, most recently with the Lakers in 2020, James has also won four MVP awards and became the NBA’s all-time scoring leader in 2023.
Beyond his NBA dominance, James has excelled on the international stage, winning three Olympic gold medals with Team USA at the 2008 Beijing, 2012 London, and 2024 Paris Games.
As James continues to defy age and redefine greatness, his career remains a source of inspiration for basketball fans worldwide. (Anadolu | Philippine News Agency)
