NEW SCHOOL BUILDING BOOSTS LEARNING FOR 200 PUPILS IN MAGALANG

Over 200 students of Mapiña Elementary School in Sitio Mapiña, Barangay San Ildefonso, Magalang, now benefit from a safer and more comfortable learning environment with the completion of a new two-story school building.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) turned over the ₱14.6-million facility featuring four classrooms, comfort rooms on each floor, a PWD-accessible ramp, and a steel fire exit, all designed to meet both safety and inclusivity standards.

Spanning 506.51 square meters, the project was funded under the Department of Education’s Basic Educational Facilities Fund, addressing the persistent lack of learning spaces in the area.

DPWH Pampanga 3rd District Engineer Arnold Ocampo said the new building directly responds to classroom shortages and overcrowding, long-standing issues faced by the school community.

“This facility supports our mission to improve access to quality education through responsive and inclusive infrastructure,” Ocampo noted.

The improved school environment is expected to boost student performance and teacher engagement, paving the way for better learning outcomes.
