For the first time, NLEX Lakbay Norte took its signature road adventure beyond North and Central Luzon with NLEX Lakbay Manila—a special tour that brought media and content creators on a rediscovery of the capital’s vibrant history, culture, and cuisine.
In partnership with the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila, the journey showcased how the NLEX Connector — an 8-kilometer elevated expressway linking Caloocan City to Sta. Mesa, Manila—makes exploring the city’s gems easier than ever. With convenient exits at España and Magsaysay Boulevard, travelers can now reach Manila’s iconic destinations faster and more comfortably.
The adventure began in Intramuros, where participants immersed themselves in Manila’s rich colonial past. Highlights included visits to the Centro de Turismo, Museo de Intramuros, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church, Fort Santiago, Casa Manila, and Destileria Limtuaco Museum, capped by a hearty Filipino lunch at Ilustrado Restaurant.

Next, the group explored the Manila Clock Tower Museum inside City Hall, where the city’s colorful history met contemporary art. The visit was made even more memorable by a warm welcome from Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.
The tour continued to Binondo, the world’s oldest Chinatown, for a flavorful food crawl that blended tradition and innovation. Stops included Eng Bee Tin, 1919 Grand Café, Xin Xiang Seafood Restaurant, and Vegeselect, each offering a taste of Manila’s culinary diversity.

Beyond history and food, the trip highlighted the city’s green and creative spaces—Pasig River Esplanade, Arroceros Forest Park, Philippine Biodome, Manila Ocean Park, and the Digital Art Museum—proving that Manila offers both culture and calm in the heart of the metropolis.

Participants stayed at the Manila Prince Hotel, the official accommodation partner, offering modern comfort within reach of the city’s most beloved landmarks.
The journey was made possible through the support of partners including Tesla Motors Philippines, Green Cross, Belo, Leslie Corporation, TOPO Designs, Mentos, and Pocari Sweat, who helped ensure a safe, comfortable, and stylish experience.
More than just a tour, NLEX Lakbay Manila celebrated the capital’s ever-evolving charm—its stories, heart, and flavors. Thanks to the NLEX Connector, Manila has become not just a destination, but a rediscovery waiting at the end of every road.
