The Pulilan section of the third Candaba Viaduct on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) is now open.

This section is the first two kilometers opened in the Southbound portion of the 3rd Viaduct.

Meanwhile, the southbound lane of the original Viaduct will be closed for rehabilitation.

According to NLEX Corporation President Luigi Bautista, all 516 foundations for the 3rd Candaba Viaduct have already been installed.

A total of 524 of the 528 posts have already been installed on the viaduct. Between the posts, 209 of the 286 crossheads that will reinforce the girders have already been fabricated.

Meantime, 665 of the 1,028 girders have already been installed to support the 3 lanes of the third viaduct. 

The 3rd Candaba Viaduct is being built to reinforce the original viaduct that wa ls built some 50 years ago.

NLEX Corporation has allocated some P8 billion for the rehabilitation, widening and expansion of the expressway. (PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
