New ALS Skills Training Center opens in Llanera

The municipality of Llanera has officially inaugurated its newly constructed Alternative Learning System (ALS) Skills Training Center in Barangay Victoria.

This project was made possible through the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) awarded to the local government unit (LGU) for the fiscal year 2023.

According to Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Nueva Ecija Provincial Engineer Patrick Jerome Cipriano, the SGLGIF is an incentive provided to LGUs that have excelled in governance and passed the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), which recognizes outstanding performance in public service delivery and effective governance.

“The municipality of Llanera received P1.8 million from the SGLGIF, which was allocated for the construction of the new ALS Skills Training Center,” Cipriano explained.

The total cost of the project was P3.2 million, with additional funding contributed by the municipal government.

The new ALS Skills Training Center features two classrooms, each spanning 48 square meters on the ground floor, as well as a 182-square-meter multi-purpose hall on the second floor. This facility will serve as a venue for training out-of-school youth and other learners, with the goal of enhancing their skills and educational opportunities.

In addition to its educational function, the building is also expected to host a variety of events, including seminars, meetings, and other special occasions. (PIA 3-Nueva Ecija)
