PAMPANGA IS WORRY-FREE ELECTION AREA – PRO 3

Newly-installed Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) Director PBGen. Jean S. Fajardo expressed confidence that Pampanga will be generally worry-free in the 2025 national and local elections.

PBGen. Fajardo, who spoke at Pampanga Press Club’s media forum “News @ Hues”, said that the PNP’s attention is now centered on the upcoming elections, with the campaign period set to commence in about three weeks.

“National candidates are expected to visit Pampanga and Central Luzon. We have to make sure that they are safe and secure,” she said.

Fajardo explained that as of the last quarter of 2024, there are 14 areas of concern in Central Luzon, including 9 municipalities and 4 cities in the yellow category, and one municipality in the orange category. She emphasized, however, that Pampanga is generally worry-free, despite Arayat and City of San Fernando falling under the yellow category as intense political rivalries are observed therein.

Fajardo stressed that the key role of the police force in ensuring a peaceful election is to “remain apolitical. The PNP has to be non-partisan.”

She revealed that PNP personnel who declared intention to run in the upcoming polls have been relieved, “and close to 100 cops nationwide have also been relieved due to their close association with retired PNP personnel who will run.”

PBGen. Fajardo also said that the media will play a vital role by reporting any election irregularity that the PNP personnel may commit.
