PhilHealth brings Konsulta Services to Ayta Magbukun Community in Bataan

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) continues its push for inclusive healthcare by bringing its Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) program directly to the Ayta Magbukun tribe in Barangay Bangkal, Abucay.

Through a collaborative caravan with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and the Abucay Rural Health Unit (RHU), PhilHealth delivered primary care services and conducted on-site registration under the Konsulta package. Tribal members and their dependents received assistance in updating records, securing Member Data Records (MDRs), and obtaining their PhilHealth ID cards.

PhilHealth Bataan Head Edmond Manuel emphasized the agency’s commitment to being “Mabilis, Patas, at Mapagkakatiwalaan” in service. “We are here to ensure that no Filipino is left behind when it comes to access to healthcare,” he said.

The RHU provided medical consultations and health profiling, while the NCIP issued notarized certifications for tribe members, further solidifying access to essential services.

An information campaign was also held to inform the community about expanded PhilHealth benefits, the scope of the Konsulta program, and the importance of primary care in preventing illness and reducing medical costs.

By building strong partnerships among government agencies, healthcare providers, and indigenous communities, PhilHealth continues to promote financial protection and better health outcomes—ensuring that every Juan and Juana can live healthier and happier lives.
