The Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo โPogiโ Lazatin Jr., on May 20, 2024 continues the Walang Plastikan – Plastik Palit Bigas Project in Barangay Sto. Domingo.
Walang Plastikan – Plastik Palit Bigas Project aims to encourage Angelenฬo households to practice waste segregation at source, in their own homes, as well as to reduce if not eliminate the use of plastics.
IC Calaguas, Mayor Lazatin’s Chief Adviser, said the city government will collect recyclable plastics from Angelenฬo households in exchange for rice.
One kilo of recyclable plastics is equivalent to one kilo of rice.
The plastics collected will be made into brick pavers.
