The cultural performing group Anak Bale-Balayan took center stage as one of the featured performers during the opening concert of National Arts Month titled “Ani ng Sining: Konsiyerto ng Katotohanan at Giting,” held at the Rizal Park Open Air Auditorium and led by the National Parks Development Committee.
Through every rhythm and movement of indigenous instruments, the group shared stories shaped by truth and strengthened by courage—highlighting the depth of Filipino heritage through music rooted in memory, identity, and hope.

The group expressed gratitude to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for the opportunity and trust to present ancestral music on a national platform. They also expressed gratitude to their supporters for the assistance and guidance provided during the group’s preparations and throughout the event, and extended thanks to the Marikina Dance Guild for lending costumes that reflect not only traditional attire but also the stories woven into Filipino textiles.
Celebrated every February, National Arts Month highlights the role of arts in preserving truth and strengthening national identity. Through performances like this, cultural groups continue to uphold the message that in art, stories of truth are harvested, and through music, communities continue to rise and stand strong.
