On March 6, 2025, Mayor Carmelo โ€œPogiโ€ Lazatin, Jr. inaugurated Belen Homesite Elementary School, the first fully solar-powered public elementary school in Central Luzon, showcasing Angeles City’s commitment to modernizing education with renewable energy.

The school, equipped with 32 kVA solar panels, features seven air-conditioned classrooms and can accommodate about 170 students. Funded by the Angeles City Government with a โ‚ฑ3 million budget, this project highlights the cityโ€™s dedication to sustainability and education.

Principal Mary Ann Tenidor and PTA President Berlin Jhay Meneses praised the initiative, emphasizing the schoolโ€™s role in providing a modern, energy-efficient learning environment. Mayor Lazatin affirmed the projectโ€™s importance for public education and environmental responsibility.

This initiative is part of Angeles Cityโ€™s broader efforts to improve education and promote sustainable development.
