The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), led by Chairman Atty. Hilario B. Paredes, participated in the Smart City World Congress 2025 in Barcelona to study practical smart city models that can be applied to New Clark City and other BCDA developments.

During the mission, the delegation met with companies specializing in green energy, mobility solutions, and smart infrastructure. They also held discussions with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to explore the use of blockchain for transparent and efficient project monitoring.

The team likewise visited Mercabarna—Barcelona’s central food logistics hub—as a reference point for the upcoming Clark National Food Hub. A meeting with the Philippine Consulate General further opened conversations on investment opportunities.

These engagements strengthen BCDA’s efforts to integrate technological innovation, foster global knowledge exchange, and build strong international partnerships.
