The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has teamed up with global telecommunications technology firm iSON Tower Ltd. Inc. to accelerate digital transformation across its properties, promising faster, more reliable, and more affordable connectivity for Filipinos.
BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang and iSON Tower Founder and Chairperson Vivek Gupta signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on August 27 to collaborate on project preparation studies for passive telecommunication infrastructure and related projects within BCDA-administered economic zones. The signing was witnessed by BCDA Chairperson Hilario B. Paredes and iSON Tower Philippines Country Manager Rahul Singh.
“This partnership will deliver transformative development in our ecozones, with iSON bringing its global expertise in building robust and secure digital networks,” Bingcang said. “It will pave the way for better services that help locators thrive and improve everyday convenience and quality of life for residents.”
The collaboration, a direct outcome of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s state visit to India, will initially focus on common tower projects in New Clark City (Tarlac), Camp John Hay (Baguio City), Poro Point Freeport Zone (La Union), Morong Discovery Park (Bataan), and Bonifacio Global City (Taguig).
Under the MOU, iSON Tower will conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies, and business case preparation to guide the development, implementation, and construction of passive telecommunications infrastructure.
Gupta emphasized the partnership’s inclusive vision: “Every Filipino is entitled to 4G and 5G connectivity—whether in institutions, development areas, or on the street.”
The agreement supports BCDA’s goal of creating smart, future-ready communities that attract high-impact investments in technology-driven industries. “From New Clark City to Bonifacio Global City, stronger connectivity secures growth that is competitive and inclusive,” Paredes said.
The initiative also aligns with the government’s National Broadband Plan, where BCDA works alongside the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to strengthen nationwide digital infrastructure.
iSON Towers, a subsidiary of India’s iSON Group, is accredited by the DICT as a common tower provider in the Philippines and specializes in passive infrastructure solutions for network coverage and connectivity.
