The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Department of Education (DepEd), and BDO Foundation are ramping up efforts to embed financial literacy into basic education with a newly strengthened partnership and a suite of ready-to-use teaching materials for K–12 learners and teachers.

In a courtesy meeting held at the DepEd Central Office, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, and BDO Foundation President Mario Deriquito reaffirmed their joint commitment to equipping students with essential life skills in saving, budgeting, and smart financial planning.

More than 300 lesson exemplars and 10 educational videos are now available on the DepEd Learning Portal. These materials, aligned with the K–12 curriculum, are designed to make financial concepts accessible, relevant, and actionable in both classroom and co-curricular settings.

“This initiative empowers our educators to raise financially literate citizens without the burden of developing new content from scratch,” said Deriquito. Secretary Angara also committed to intensifying the use and dissemination of these tools nationwide.

This effort is part of the BSP’s National Strategy for Financial Inclusion and contributes to the broader advocacy of BDO Foundation to promote responsible money management from an early age.
