In observance of National Autism Consciousness Week this January 2026, the City College of Angeles (CCA) formally pledged to end the use of autistic-related remarks as derogatory language and to promote respect, inclusion, and understanding for persons on the autism spectrum.
The CCA community took the “1Pangako” Oath during the college’s Flag Ceremony on January 26, 2026, through a partnership with the Autism Society of the Philippines–Angeles City Chapter (ASP–Angeles) and the Angeles City Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).
Present at the activity were ASP–Angeles City Chapter President Marie Umali and Angeles City PDAO Head Ryan David, who underscored the importance of mindful language use, disability sensitivity, and inclusive practices in educational institutions and the broader community.
CCA administrators, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel participated in the oath-taking, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment, particularly for persons with disabilities.
Through the initiative, CCA reinforced its advocacy for autism awareness, dignity, and inclusion, emphasizing that conscious language and everyday actions play a vital role in building a more inclusive society.
