Cebu Pacific has recognized its top-performing pilots and cabin crew by honoring them with traditional handwoven pieces, highlighting the shared values of precision, care, and service that bind Filipino weaving with aviation excellence.
Captain Niel Siรฑel, cited among the airlineโs best pilots, received a Binakol tie from Ilocos Norte, a weaving tradition once reserved for significant occasions. For Siรฑel, the piece symbolizes unity and prideโmirroring his meticulous commitment to safety in every flight.

โBefore any aircraft is dispatched, it must meet strict safety requirements,โ Siรฑel said. โPart of that is ensuring the weather and alternate airports are suitable. Precision is what keeps every flight safe.โ
Likewise, cabin crew member Cezzye Basa was recognized with a Ramit scarf from Occidental Mindoro, known for its nature-inspired patterns. With over a decade of service, Basa continues to embody care and continuity in guiding younger colleagues.
โThe service we provide passengers is like how they make the weavesโmeticulous and never rushed,โ she said.
Beyond the symbolic weaves, both Siรฑel and Basa stressed teamwork as essential. From preflight briefings to handling weather disruptions, they emphasized the importance of professionalism, empathy, and open communication in ensuring safety and comfort on board.
Cebu Pacific said honoring its crew with weaves reflects not just individual excellence but also a larger culture of resilience, service, and Filipino pride. Like the artisans who keep traditions alive through fabric, the airlineโs crew members weave together journeys and memories for โevery Juan.โ
