The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is closely monitoring the situation following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that hit Cebu province on Tuesday, September 30.

In a statement released Wednesday, October 1, DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said assistance has been directed for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) stranded in airports and seaports. He added that DMW and OWWA regional offices are coordinating to assess the needs of affected OFW families and seafarers.

Emergency hotlines and online services remain open to provide immediate support to those in need.
