Mayor Carmelo β€œJon” Lazatin II inspected the newly completed Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) near the Pampang Public Market, which is currently undergoing a dry run following its construction by the city government.

Mayor Lazatin reviewed the facility’s infrastructure and operations, highlighting its key role in treating wastewater for non-potable reuse. The plant is expected to significantly reduce water pollution from the public market and nearby areas, supporting cleaner waterways and a healthier environment.

The Pampang STP is the second wastewater treatment facility in Angeles City. The first, located at the city slaughterhouse, was built through a Joint Venture Agreement. Unlike that project, the Pampang facility was financed solely by the city government.

Earlier this year, then-Mayor Carmelo β€œPogi” Lazatin Jr., now Pampanga First District Representative, inaugurated the city’s first locally funded STP, calling it a landmark step in environmental protection and sustainable urban development.
