The 22 candidates of Mutya Ning Angeles 2024 showcased the spirit of resilience and cultural pride in a captivating photoshoot held at the Angeles University Foundation – Sports and Cultural Center.

Set against a backdrop inspired by native artistry, the photoshoot highlighted the city’s rich heritage and honored the craftsmanship of Angeles’ traditional basket weavers. Central to the shoot was the iconic salakot, worn by each candidate as a symbol of the city’s historical roots and ongoing evolution.

The candidates donned gowns created by esteemed 𝐺𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑛̃𝑜 designers Frederick Policarpio, Rosette Ramos-Biag, and Marlon Tuazon. These elegant pieces combined modern flair with traditional aesthetics, celebrating local talent and craftsmanship.

The event, directed by Albero Creatives, captured the essence of Angeles City’s cultural identity, blending fashion and heritage to tell a story of pride and transformation.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. emphasized the importance of the initiative in preserving and promoting the city’s heritage while supporting local artisans.

“This photoshoot is a reflection of our resilience and pride. It honors the hands that craft our traditions and celebrates the transformation of our city through the years,” Lazatin shared.

The MNA 2024 Working Committee, spearheaded by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, oversaw the activity in collaboration with Angeles City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui and Rommel Guina.

Through this cultural celebration, the Mutya Ning Angeles 2024 candidates not only showcased their grace but also carried forward the enduring legacy of Angeles City.
