The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is targeting the completion of seven major transmission projects in 2026, aimed at strengthening grid reliability and supporting the country’s growing power demand.
The projects, valued at more than ₱18 billion, include the Amlan–Dumaguete 138kV line, Tuguegarao–Lal-lo (Magapit) 230kV line, Tuy 500/230kV Substation Stage 1, Nabas–Caticlan–Boracay 138kV line, and Tacurong–Kalamansig 69kV line. Also scheduled for completion are Stage 2 of the Visayas Substation Reliability Project and the relocation of steel poles along the Hermosa–Duhat 230kV line.
NGCP said these projects will address load growth, improve system reliability and power quality, and support the entry of new power plants, including renewable energy sources.
Despite right-of-way and permitting challenges, the company remains optimistic about completing the projects within the year and continues to seek support from government agencies and local government units to fast-track approvals.
