The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have agreed to bolster security measures for media practitioners covering anti-drug operations, following a courtesy visit by PTFoMS to the PDEA national headquarters on July 14, 2025.

During the meeting, PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez acknowledged the crucial role of the media in educating the public about the dangers of illegal drugs. He emphasized the need to protect journalists who contribute to the campaign through responsible reporting.

PTFoMS Executive Director Jose Torres Jr. highlighted the importance of fostering a strong working relationship with the press to ensure the effective and safe dissemination of information surrounding the government’s anti-drug efforts.

The two agencies committed to continuing their collaboration in promoting both press freedom and journalist safety.
