Prime Infra, Manila Water improve clean water access for Porac’s Katutubo Village

Prime Infra and Manila Water, in collaboration with Prime Waste Solutions (PWS) Pampanga, have brought a vital resource to the Aeta community of Katutubo Village in Barangay Planas, Porac. A newly completed deep well facility was recently turned over to the community, ensuring long-term access to clean, safe water for 257 households.

This initiative, driven by Prime Infra’s mission to build better lives and foster resilient economies, addresses a critical need for improved health, hygiene, and sanitation in the community, which had been struggling with a limited water supply.

During the handover ceremony on October 11, Prime Waste Solutions Pampanga General Manager Jake Lachica emphasized the life-changing impact of clean water. “Clean water is life. With this new facility, we can prevent diseases caused by contaminated water,” he said.

Manila Water Foundation Executive Director Reginald Andal highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Razon Group in making this project a reality. “As part of the Razon Group, we have proven that we can achieve so much when we come together. This project truly has a meaningful impact on the lives of people,” Andal stated.

Prime Infra Foundation Executive Director Dave Jesus Devilles added that the community now holds the responsibility of maintaining and protecting this valuable asset. “This is a blessing, and it’s now in your hands to nurture and safeguard it,” he reminded the community.

As part of the ceremony, the barangay local government unit (BLGU) and the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) team received a manual and tool box to help manage the facility. The WASH team, which includes members from the Katutubo Village, underwent training to operate and maintain the deep well, with support from the BLGU.

Jonalyn Abuque, a resident of Katutubo Village and a WASH team member, expressed her gratitude for the new facility. “As a parent, I’m so happy to have this kind of help. My children no longer need to bathe in the river—now, I can fetch clean water right here. We’re endlessly thankful for this blessing, which will improve the lives of our indigenous brothers and sisters,” she shared.

This project is part of Prime Infra’s broader commitment to building sustainable, socially impactful infrastructure that enhances communities and supports the environment.
