South Korean Ambassador Lee Sang-Hwa visited the province of Pampanga to take a look at the operation of the first BUCAS Center in Philippines, which is located in the town of Sto Tomas.
The Ambassador was joined by Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, 4th District Representative Anna York Bondoc-Sagum, Sto. Tomas Mayor John Sambo, DOH 3 Regional Director Corazon Flores, and JBLMGH Medical Chief Monserrat Chichioco during the tour of the center facility.
Ambassador Lee Sang-Hwa explained that the purpose of the visit is to find out what more the South Korean government can do to further improve health services in the province.
The Ambassador thanked Vice Gov Nanay because they said they owe a lot to Pampanga because of the support given by the Provincial Government to the over 10,000 Koreans who live in the Korean Community in the province.
According to the DOH, 17 BUCAS centers have been built in the country this year to bring the services of Level 3 hospitals closer to the communities.
