The internationally acclaimed reality TV series Survivor may soon film its next season in the Philippines, as producers prepare to scout the Dinagat Islands for potential shooting locations known for their raw, untouched beauty.
In a letter to provincial officials, John Bel Martinez of Philippine Film Studios, Inc. (PFSI)โthe local partner for the global franchiseโoutlined plans for a scouting mission from December 2025 to January 2026. The team will look for remote islands with minimal human presence, ranging from lightly inhabited sites to fully pristine natural reserves.
Dinagat Islands Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. welcomed the development, calling it a major opportunity for the province.
โThis is a tremendous opportunity for Dinagat Islands to be showcased on the global stage,โ he said. โWe have islands that are pristine, untouched, and naturally breathtakingโperfect for the immersive and rugged experience that Survivor is known for.โ
Demerey also noted that hosting an international production could boost sustainable tourism and draw global attention to the provinceโs ecological richness.
PFSI, which has supported Survivor editions for countries including France, Sweden, and the United States, assured local officials that all activities will be done in coordination with communities and with respect for environmental and cultural sensitivities.
โWe are ready to assist PFSI in identifying suitable sites and providing logistical support,โ Demerey added, expressing the provincial governmentโs full cooperation. โThis project could be a game-changer for Dinagat.โ
If selected, Dinagat Islands would take a landmark role in the franchise, putting the province on the map as a premier destination for adventure tourism and eco-focused filmmaking. (Philippine News Agency)
