Promising young swimmers from Gueco Balibago Elementary School, Sto. Rosario Elementary School, and Angeles Elementary School brought home a total of 43 medals after excelling in recent national swimming competitions.
Competing in the UP Diliman SwimWave 4th Leg International Qualifying Competition and the Ignite Swimming Competition held at New Clark City, the combined delegation showcased the city’s growing grassroots sports talent.













The 14-member team from Gueco Balibago and Sto. Rosario Elementary Schools earned an impressive 27 medals — 20 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze. Meanwhile, the 12 swimmers from Angeles Elementary School secured 16 medals — 8 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze — competing in various age groups from 5 to 10 years old.
All swimmers trained under Coach Bernie Policarpio of BP Scorpions.
The young athletes paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II to share their victory and express gratitude for the city’s support. Mayor Lazatin congratulated the entire team, including the athletes, coach, and trainers, for their outstanding performance.
Also present during the courtesy call were Councilors JC Parker Aguas, Niknok Bañola, Alex Indiongco, Atty. Jeselle Dayrit, Raco Del Rosario, and Richard Gaza Jr., who joined in honoring the athletes’ achievements.
