About 130 learners of Overland Elementary School in Bagac, Bataan will soon study in a more conducive environment with the completion of a two-story, four-classroom building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Located in Barangay Atilano L. Ricardo, the โฑ13-million facility was funded through the Department of Educationโs Basic Educational Facilities Fund under the 2024 national budget, supporting the Marcos administrationโs drive for accessible and quality education.
The 532-square-meter building is equipped with male, female, and PWD restrooms, an accessibility ramp, a handwashing station, and properly ventilated classrooms.
DPWH Bataan 3rd District Engineer Maribel Navarro lauded her teamโs efforts, saying the project ensures students receive the education they deserve. Master Teacher Nora Jornal likewise thanked DPWH and DepEd for easing the schoolโs classroom shortage.
The project is expected to help accommodate the schoolโs growing student population while reflecting the governmentโs commitment to modern, inclusive learning spaces.
