More than 3,000 farmers and fisherfolk in Tarlac received financial assistance through the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (PAFFP) during a payout activity held on May 8, 2026 at the Jose V. Yap Covered Court in Victoria, Tarlac.

A total of 3,199 beneficiaries received aid under the program led by the Department of Agriculture in Central Luzon. Each beneficiary was given ₱2,325 to help support their daily needs and strengthen their livelihood amid the continuing challenges faced by the agriculture and fisheries sectors.

Among the beneficiaries were registered farmers and fisherfolk under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA). Covered under the program were rice farmers cultivating no more than two hectares, corn and sugarcane farmers, and fisherfolk registered under RSBSA-BoatR.

The program aims to provide immediate assistance to sectors that play a vital role in ensuring the country’s food security.

The Department of Agriculture said it continues to implement programs and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and livelihood of farmers and fisherfolk in Central Luzon. Distribution of assistance is also ongoing in other provinces across the region to reach more beneficiaries under the government program.
