4,131 dialysis patients in Pampanga receive aid

A total of 4,131 dialysis patients from various towns in Pampanga received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Provincial Government of Pampanga on Friday, May 8.

Governor Lilia Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis Pineda personally visited and checked on the beneficiaries and their families during separate distribution activities held in Lubao, Magalang, Mexico, and Apalit.

The provincial government said the assistance aims to help ease the burden faced by dialysis patients, who continue to struggle with the physical, emotional, and financial challenges brought by their condition.

Joining the distribution activities were Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Board Members Atty. Claire Lim and Dr. Kaye Naguit, and PSWDO Officer Fe Manarang.

Governor Pineda also shared that the provincial government continues to build hospitals and medical facilities across Pampanga to make healthcare services more accessible to Kapampangans. Among the ongoing projects are the hospital in Apalit, a new district hospital in Bacolor, and the planned groundbreaking of hospitals in San Luis and Arayat.

She expressed hope that with improved access to healthcare and early medical intervention, fewer Kapampangans would eventually require dialysis treatment.

Aside from the ₱4,000 financial assistance from DSWD, each beneficiary also received half a sack of rice.
