38 OFWs FROM ISRAEL SAFELY RETURN HOME IN LATEST REPATRIATION BATCHES

A total of 38 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Israel arrived safely in the Philippines in two separate repatriation batches conducted on Friday, July 4, and Sunday, July 6, amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

According to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), most of the returnees were caregivers who voluntarily availed of the government’s repatriation program. Thirteen OFWs arrived last Friday, while 25 came home on Sunday.

Upon arrival, the OFWs were welcomed by DMW representatives and were immediately provided with assistance, including financial aid, TESDA training vouchers, and medical check-ups courtesy of the Department of Health (DOH).

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has personally ordered the prompt delivery of support services to repatriated OFWs as part of his directive to ensure the safety and welfare of all Filipinos affected by conflicts abroad.

Since October 2023, a total of 1,405 OFWs have been repatriated from Israel. The administration continues to monitor the situation closely and reaffirm its commitment to safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of overseas Filipino workers, especially in crisis-affected regions.
