51 Young Filipinos begin leadership journey as BAGANI Fellows

A total of 51 young Filipinos officially began their leadership journey through the BAGANI: Rising Leaders’ Development Program during the PAGSIBOL Welcome Ceremony 2026.

Implemented by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), the program draws inspiration from the Bagani of Manobo culture—heroes, leaders, and warriors dedicated to serving their communities. It seeks to develop a new generation of leaders committed to public service, good governance, and nation-building.

The inaugural BAGANI Fellows represent various government agencies, academic institutions, civil society groups, and youth organizations from across the country.

As part of the program, the Fellows will undergo a series of learning sessions, policy dialogues, mentorship engagements, and collaborative activities aimed at strengthening their understanding of governance and public service. They will also design and implement Catalyst Projects that address issues affecting their communities and institutions.

During the ceremony, speakers encouraged the Fellows to view leadership as a responsibility rooted in integrity and service, emphasizing that true leadership begins long before one assumes a formal position of authority.

The BAGANI program aims to equip emerging leaders with the knowledge, values, and skills needed to create meaningful change and contribute to the country’s development.
