San Fernando Electric Light and Power Company (SFELAPCO) reported that its power distribution system remained intact and displayed resilience during a series of typhoons and the onset of the southwest monsoon or habagat.
The company’s two franchise areas, the City of San Fernando and Floridablanca, experienced minimal power interruptions as a result of SFELAPCO’s preventive and corrective measures undertaken in anticipation of the rainy season.
To ensure the continuous provision of electricity to its customers, SFELAPCO made significant investments in modern electrical equipment, upgraded lines, and manpower training, enabling the company to promptly respond to any emergencies.
The firm’s dedicated linemen are always on high alert 24/7 for power restoration and line repair, ready to address any system disturbances.
Acknowledging the importance of continuous power service especially in times of calamities, SFELAPCO has established effective communication channels. Its lines are available to receive reports of power outages even during stormy weather conditions.
However, SFELAPCO urged the public to exercise responsibility in using these hotlines to prevent congestion and ensure that important concerns are prioritized.
SFELAPCO also stressed that minimizing power outages is a shared responsibility between the company and its customers. The company urged the public to actively contribute to reducing power interruptions by practicing simple yet effective measures.
Regularly pruning vegetations and trees near power lines can significantly reduce the risk of power disruptions caused by falling branches or vegetation entanglement.
“SFELAPCO understands that having a reliable power supply is essential for everyday activities, especially during times of emergencies. The company remains committed to its mission of providing high-quality and reliable power distribution services to its customers, assuring them that their safety and convenience are top priorities,” said lawyer Catherine Rose Diaz, SFELAPCO spokesperson.
“SFELAPCO remains grateful to its valued customers for their support and cooperation, and assures them of its unwavering commitment to excellence in providing reliable and uninterrupted power supply, even during the most challenging times. By working together, SFELAPCO and the community can overcome any obstacle and ensure that San Fernando and Floridablanca remain powered and connected,” she said.
Customers may reach SFELAPCO through its hotline numbers (045) 961-2727, 961-1892, 961-1893, 961-3183 and 961-3517 during emergency interruptions. To better serve the public, SFELAPCO is committed to upgrading its emergency response system, and is expected to be running more efficiently by the end of September.
