All 511 barangays in the province of Tarlac committed to foster a healthier, more sustainable, and cleaner environment by engaging in the Kalinisan (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) sa Bagong Pilipinas Program.
It employs a bayanihan scheme in cleaning streets, canals, drainages, creeks, public markets, schools, parks and other public spaces.
DILG Provincial Director Armi Bactad emphasized that the 100 percent participation of Tarlac villages mirrors their all-out support and commitment to preserve and protect the environment.
“The success of the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program in the province of Tarlac is a powerful testament on the dedication of Tarlaqueños to fostering a healthy and safe environment. The collective efforts of 511 barangays symbolize a significant stride towards building a cleaner and more sustainable country for the current and future generations,” she said.
The province-wide clean-up drive was participated by local officials, volunteers, and DILG Tarlac personnel.
Relative to this, Bactad called for the support of Tarlaqueños not only on the environmental campaigns of the government but also on its other programs.
“As we celebrate this success, we eagerly anticipate your continued collaboration on the national government’s thrusts. Together, we can create a lasting impact, paving the way for a cleaner, safer, and more resilient ‘Bagong Pilipinas’,” she noted.
The Kalinisan program is a DILG-led environmental initiative that aims to inculcate a sense of environmental responsibility among Filipinos; to encourage local government units to strategically invest in programs, projects and activities on solid waste management and ecological practices; and to recognize the cleanest local government units.
