Angeles City Mayor Carmelo โ€œPogiโ€ Lazatin, Jr. on August 8, 2024 distributed a total of โ‚ฑ705,000 in cash incentives to the Angeleรฑo student athletes who emerged winners in the recent Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) meet.

The distribution was held at the Mayorโ€™s Office, where the 63 winners were present and greeted by Mayor Lazatin personally.

โ€œMasayang pagbati sa lahat ng mga student-athletes na nagbigay ng karangalan para sa ating siyudad,โ€ Lazatin said.

Angeles City has garnered six gold, 15 silver, and 22 bronze medals during the said annual sporting event.

Each gold medalist received โ‚ฑ10,000, while silver the medalist and the bronze medalists got โ‚ฑ7,000 and โ‚ฑ5,000 respectively.

Lazatin also believes that this young breed of student-athletes will soon represent not just Angeles City, but also the country.

โ€œIt is our administrationโ€™s ultimate dream to produce an Angeleรฑo olympic medalist. It is not impossible, with these athletes who are very dedicated and hard working in the field of sports,โ€ Lazatin shared.

Lazatin vowed that he will continue to support and prioritize sports development amongst youth, also thanking lthe Department of Education โ€” Division of Angeles City, schools, teachers and coaches.

Among the medalists in taekwondo are
Justine Villanueva, Josh Martin Reyes, Francheska Jhane Aguilar, Caroline Weeko Balajadia, Nicole Ocampo, Isabela Gomez, Quincy Lee Ilan, JC Escala, Clifford Mutuc, Olven Mendoza, and Louis Lorenzo.

In swimming, Ian Patrick Aquino, Renesmee Livana Morales, Carlos Joaquin Herrera, Vaughn Cabrera, Matthew Shawn Tria, Zoe Baldemore, Melbourne Carlos Guarin, Jerlin Raumei Valencia, Sarah Patel, Cassandra Barret, Audrey Gueco, Gail Reyes, Yunicha De Castro won medals for Angeles City.

Jhazz Mark Castillo, Alwin Cayzer David, Mark Rainiel Yuzon received medals in arnis.
Woodpushers John Kristoff Bautista, Miguel Antonio Roque, Tiv Omangay, and Joshua Mallari outsmarted their opponents in chess.

In athletics, Bellanca Marie Acejo Valerio, Helen Monica Bradborn captured medals for the city.

Karch Eurich Baltazar, Pia Kristel Garcia, Ianne Angela Flores, and Princess Reynne Sitchon took home medals in table tennis.

Meanwhile in lawn tennis, Julia Gabrielle Velasco secured a medal.

Mark Justine Sison, Van Axl Labadan, Prince Dizon, Meldrin Dela Cruz, Tyrone Paul Guiuo, Michael Anthony Smith, Jon Clarence Balina, Enrique Suarez, Mahrck Ael Guevarra, Benjamin Santos, Nikko Tipino, Renz Angelo Manabat, Althea Villavicencio, Kem Rayala, and Angeline Galant captured medals in basketball.

Ijuirly Archie Bautista, Louie Legaspi Jr., Richard Santiago, Jay-N Calahan, Tristan Gabriel Yabut, Angel Luis Rendon, Eiron Nallatan, Zeeyah Arkisha Danganan, Ethaniel Santos, and Angeline Galang won medals in paragames.
