Rehabilitation works at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), including roads, bridges, and exits and entries, are set for completion by September 2024, before the holiday season.
According to NLEX Corporation President Luigi Bautista, the rehabilitation of the Bulacan portion of the NLEX covers Mabiga in Plaridel, Tabang Toll Plaza in Guiguinto, the southbound lane from the Tabang spur exit ramp to barangay Burol II in Balagtas and entry and exit ramps at the Bocaue Toll Plaza.
The priority for the Pampanga side of the NLEX is the completion of raising the level of the road in Tulaoc in San Simon.
Meanwhile, improvements are also being done on on the SCTEX Spur Ramp or its connector from NLEX and also from SCTEX back to NLEX.
The Manuali part SCTEX in Porac, Pampanga (Subic-bound) is also being repaired.
Meanwhile, for SCTEX Tarlac-bound, also undergoing rehabilitation are roads in the areas of parts of Old San Jose, San Ramon and Pagalangang in Dinaluiphan, Bataan, Dampe in Floridablanca, Pampanga and Margot in Angeles City.
NLEX’S North Harbor Link (both lanes) is likewise being checked to ensure that good asphalt quality is intact.
NLEX Corporation specifically manages the asphalt patching or asphalt compaction in damaged areas, rotomilling or grinding of used asphalt, and asphalt overlaying or the laying of new asphalt. (PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
