The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has achieved a historic milestone as the only national government agency from the Philippines to receive two Gold Stevie Awards at the 2024 International Business Awards, held on October 11 at the InterContinental Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey.
Out of over 3,600 entries from 62 countries, BCDA’s 2021 Annual Report and The Collective magazine both earned top honors in their categories, emphasizing BCDA’s commitment to transparency, strategic communication, and innovative stakeholder engagement.
BCDA’s 2021 Annual Report, titled We Build As One, won in the Best Annual Report – Government Agencies category. The report stood out for its clarity in presenting financial data, accomplishments, and detailed insights into BCDA’s infrastructure projects. According to an International Business Awards judge, “The entry effectively outlines the communications objectives and achievements of the BCDA 2021 Annual Report, focusing on financial standing, accomplishments, and collaborations through public-private partnerships.”
BCDA’s external magazine, The Collective, received the Gold Stevie Award for Other Publication – Government category. The magazine was recognized for its reach and creative design, providing stakeholders with engaging insights into BCDA’s ongoing projects and future plans. A judge noted, “The reach of the digital version is impressive, making The Collective an interesting and appealing resource for stakeholders.”
“These recognitions validate our efforts to foster transparency and keep the public informed about BCDA’s initiatives,” said BCDA President and CEO Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang. “Both the Annual Report and The Collective reflect our dedication to clear communication, our development milestones, and our vision for national progress.”
The Stevie Awards are among the world’s top business recognition programs, with nominations judged by 300 experts across various fields. This year’s Gold awards were presented to BCDA President and CEO Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang, Vice President for Public Affairs Leilani Barlongay-Macasaet, Public Relations Officer Denver A. Moreno, Senior Vice President for Corporate Services Atty. Elvira V. Estanislao, and Vice President for Investment Promotions and Marketing Kenneth R. Peralta.
The International Business Awards honor exceptional achievements in business and communication across industries, with entries rated on a points-based system: the highest scores receive Gold, while entries with scores above 8.25 and 7.75 receive Silver and Bronze awards, respectively.
