Jong Phil Choi, president of the Korean Community Association for Central Luzon, expressed optimism about fostering deeper cooperation between Korean residents and local leaders during the Hanbi Cultural Festival held recently at Royce Hotel, Pampanga.
The event, attended by 600 South Korean nationals and graced by Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, Board Member Ananias Canlas, and Philippine National Police officials, also served as the association’s annual general assembly.
Choi emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and collaboration, highlighting the contributions of both Koreans and Filipinos to the region’s progress and safety. He praised local government efforts to protect Korean nationals and pledged to encourage more business and tourism opportunities in Central Luzon.
The association also presented plaques of appreciation to the PNP and local government units for their support. “We hope to strengthen our ties and create more avenues for cultural exchange,” Choi said, noting that over 15,000 Koreans in the region actively contribute to tourism and business.
