Belmont Hotel Manila transforms its lobby into a vibrant gallery with the opening of its 6th Hiraya Art Exhibit, “Layers of Expression,” running from June 11 through August 2025. This season’s showcase brings together the bold canvases of Pampanga contemporary artist Manny Cabrera and the introspective creations of Philippine basketball star–turned–visual artist Japeth Aguilar.
Cabrera’s signature style—where animation’s playfulness meets surreal depth—greets visitors with brilliant hues and dynamic forms that invite both wonder and reflection. Aguilar, stepping off the hardwood and into the studio, shares an unexpected side of himself through layered brushstrokes and personal symbolism. His works explore themes of identity, perseverance, and the quiet moments behind the public spotlight.

“Japeth’s paintings show a side of him many haven’t seen—one filled with emotion and imagination,” says Mayann Malapote, Director of Operations at Belmont Hotel Manila. “Hiraya continues to be a space where we celebrate Filipino creativity, and we hope this exhibit leaves guests inspired.”
Cluster General Manager Sonny Alvaro adds, “This is what Hiraya is about—giving artists a platform to tell their stories. It’s always exciting to see how each exhibit unfolds.”
True to its name—hiraya meaning the realization of dreams—the exhibit highlights how every layer of paint, color, and texture can tell a story. Guests are invited to wander through these visual narratives, encounter unexpected perspectives, and engage with the dreams behind each stroke.
Layers of Expression is free and open daily in the Belmont Hotel Manila lobby. For inquiries, call 5318 8888 or email info@belmontmanila.com
