AAPA, PAL highlight aviation safety at APASS 2025

The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA), together with Philippine Airlines (PAL), successfully hosted the Asia Pacific Aviation Safety Seminar (APASS) 2025 in September at Hilton Manila.

The two-day event gathered aviation safety leaders, regulators, and industry experts across the region under the theme “Safety Beyond Borders: Global Partnerships, Local Impact.”

PAL President Richard Nuttall underscored the airline’s commitment to passenger safety, noting that evolving risks in aviation require stronger collaboration.

“As the nation’s flag carrier, safety has always been at the core of our operations. Meeting today’s challenges demands that airlines, regulators, suppliers, and the entire aviation ecosystem work together for a safer future,” Nuttall said.

AAPA Director General Subhas Menon reaffirmed this view, stressing “Safety remains the cornerstone of aviation. The better we address any arising risk, the safer we become.”

APASS 2025 featured breakout sessions, panel discussions, and collaborative exchanges covering operational risk management, safety data analysis, and innovations in flight safety technology.

This marks the second time PAL has hosted the seminar, the last being in 2010.
