First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. announced that construction work for the completion and widening of Arayat Boulevard, extending to Poinsettia Avenue in Barangay Pampang, is now underway.
According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office, the project began a week ago following the release of an additional ₱100 million in funding.

Currently, sections of the six-lane boulevard remain unfinished, particularly near Forest Park Homes and Kim’s Mall. Lazatin, along with District Engineer Ocampo, inspected the ongoing works on October 18, noting how the project will further ease traffic congestion once completed.
Joining the inspection were DOTr Assistant Secretary and Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Political Affairs Assistant I Mike Lising.
Earlier in August, Lazatin also shared plans to request ₱260 million from DPWH for the rehabilitation of 173 day care centers and ₱40 million for Rural Health Units in Mabalacat City and Magalang in 2026.
