DILG CALLS FOR SAFE, ORDERLY AND PEACEFUL UNDAS 2025

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has directed all local government units (LGUs), the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to implement measures ensuring a safe, orderly, and peaceful observance of Undas 2025.

In a memorandum to local officials, the DILG urged proactive coordination and preparedness from October 31 to November 2 as millions of Filipinos are expected to visit cemeteries and memorial parks.

Local chief executives are instructed to mobilize peace and order councils, deploy law enforcers, barangay tanods, traffic aides, and medical teams, and coordinate with the PNP and emergency responders to maintain public safety and smooth traffic flow.

The PNP is set to activate its security plans, increase police visibility in cemeteries and transport terminals, and establish assistance desks. The BFP and BJMP will also coordinate with LGUs and the PNP to respond to emergencies and fire incidents.

“Undas is a time for remembrance and cooperation,” the DILG said, urging the public to observe cleanliness, follow local advisories, and prioritize safety during visits.

The Department assured that all concerned agencies are working together to ensure a peaceful and meaningful Undas 2025, in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas vision of peace, order, and shared community responsibility.
