Mabalacat City steps up Undas preparations

Mabalacat City Mayor Geld Aquino has led early preparations for Undas to ensure the safety of travelers and residents.

Aquino, together with Vice Mayor Jun Castro, inspected the Dau Bus Terminal ahead of the expected increase in passengers.

The city government also conducted random drug testing on public transport drivers under OPLAN Harabas. The activity was carried out with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), and Mabalacat City Police.

The testing aims to help ensure that drivers are fit to travel and keep passengers safe on the road.

Aquino also said city police would be deployed to areas expected to draw large crowds during Undas. These include cemeteries and other busy locations.

Preparations at local cemeteries are also underway. These include repainting and facility improvements to accommodate visitors.

The city government has also adjusted traffic routes to improve vehicle flow and help prevent congestion near cemeteries and major transport terminals.

Through these preparations, the Mabalacat City government aims to provide safer travel and a more orderly observance of Undas for Mabalaqueñians.
