Philippine Airlines, Southwest Airlines launch Interline Partnership

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced a new interline partnership with Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV), offering passengers smoother connections and single-ticket journeys between the Philippines and multiple destinations across the United States.

The partnership allows travelers to book combined itineraries through Philippine Airlines and select travel platforms, linking PAL’s extensive network across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East with Southwest’s vast coverage in the U.S. mainland and Hawaii.

Passengers can now enjoy more convenient transfers via shared gateway airports in Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle/Tacoma (SEA), and Honolulu (HNL) — where Southwest operates nearly 50 interisland flights daily.

“Our interline partnership with Southwest Airlines enables seamless connections and single-ticket journeys across both of our networks,” said Christoph Gaertner, PAL Vice President for Revenue Management. “As we expand PAL’s global reach, this collaboration offers travelers more flexibility and a wider range of destinations in the United States.”

Andrew Watterson, Chief Operating Officer of Southwest Airlines, added, “Each airline partnership brings unique reach and opens new opportunities for travelers around the globe. With our strong presence in California and Hawaii, we are well-positioned to serve Philippine Airlines passengers flying to and from the U.S.”

The collaboration reinforces Philippine Airlines’ commitment to enhancing connectivity and meeting the growing demand for convenient, flexible, and passenger-friendly travel options between the Philippines and the United States.
